Festivals Galore!

Here in M’hamid we have not one, or two, but three music and culture festivals through the year. At all of them there are performances which are open to all as well as ticketed events, and they all create a festive atmosphere in our small town.

M’hamid is also home to the Joudor Sahara music school, Founded in 2016, Joudour Sahara began activities in the centre of M’hamid El Ghizlane in southeastern Morocco. And have engaged 350 students and more than 400 musicians across the Southern Draa Valley region, while reaching more than 10,000 through our community initiatives and performance events. It also oversees the Zamane festival, our newest festival here.

These exquisite photos were taken by one our guests during the Taragalte Festival 2024 and are used with his permission

The Taragalte Festival is M’hamid’s longest running festival and has been famous throughout the world for many years, last year it seemed to lose its way a little and at the moment we don’t know what the plans are for 2026 but stay hopeful that the spirit of the festival will return

Their website is here: https://www.taragalte.org/en/
