The Sahara Desert Experience – 10th to 18th November 2025
If you have ever dreamed of an authentic taste of the Sahara, this trip is for you.
From the ancient and vibrant city of Marrakech we travel by minibus over the breathtaking terrain of the High Atlas Mountains to southern Morocco and the mighty Sahara – the world’s largest hot desert. With the expert guidance of Katherine Soutar (artist and adopted local) her partner Abdol Laghfiri, (native Saharaoiu nomad guide) and Colin Urwin (wildlife guide and master storyteller), experience the unique nomadic culture, delicious traditional cuisine, desert wildlife and evenings of fun where you might have to perform your party piece! The tour will take in stunning historic sites like the Kasbah’s of Ait Ben Haddou and Ouled Othmane and a visit to the world famous Tamegroute pottery. And what could be more romantic and unforgettable than two days walking with camels over Saharan sands, cooking by campfire and sleeping under a blanket of stars in the deep desert? Perfect for photographers, artists, lovers of nature and those seeking a brush with real wilderness, this trip is the experience of a liftime and will surpass your wildest desert dreams.
All transport from Marrakech to the desert at M’hamid El Ghizlane, accommodation, amazing home-cooked Moroccan meals and the warm hospitality of our desert home at Dar al Fananna (The Artist’s House) is included. The desert is literally outside our door and our guides will always be on hand to answer your many questions…
