Our typical desert trek experience Includes transport to and from Marrakech, a visit to the stunning Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou and a night in Ouarzazate as well as 4 days trekking in the desert with camels. Itinerary below.
The total cost will be £900 per person. £200 deposit, with the balance payable on arrival or one month in advance
7 day discover the desert itinerary
Day 1/2
Depart with our transport from the riad/hotel in Marrakech at 8am. Passing through the stunning Tiz’n Tichka, the highest mountain pass in Morocco, with spectacular panoramic scenery – mountains,valleys and an ever-changing landscape. you will be passing many Berber villages as we travel. On the way we will stop for lunch and visit the magnificent Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – a UNESCO World heritage site and one of the best preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco. A famous site for Hollywood films . We stay in a beautiful hotel overnight in Ouarzazate
The following morning we continue further through the beautiful Draa valley lined with palms and berber villages, to arrive in M’hamid and enjoy Dinner and a good nights rest at Dar Al Fananna ‘The artists house’
Day 3
Departure from M’hamid with camels towards Erg Ez-zahar. Rass Nhkal is the end of palmerie and where the real desert begins , we will have lunch there and relax under the shade of the palm trees before setting out for Sidi Naji, home of the tomb of the marabout about whom it said:
‘Sidi Naji had in him so much worship as the desert counts of grains of sand and throughout his whole life, it stayed in constant communion with the divine.
The blessing of Sidi Naji is so big, as today still the wishes of those who, the pure heart, come to pray to his marabout are always fulfillled’
we will set up our bivouac nearby and spend the our first night in the peace of the desert. Each night we will enjoy a campfire and home cooked food with lots of the famous Moroccan tea, we provide tents but if you wish you can sleep under the stars all night.
Day 4
On this day,in the morning, we keep on walking towards Erg Zahar, stopping for lunch and rest about half way. Erg Zahar has spectacular wild scenery with beautiful dune formations. We will bivouac for this night at the foot of the dunes, you can climb up to watch the sunset before supper…
Day 5
Our caravan will continue its journey till we reach the sands of Erg Ait Ounir a place of rolling smaller dunes and tamarisks. We will bivouac here for this night.
Day 6
After breakfast today we will travel on across the desert, discovering more of its secrets. We will bivouac for the night in an area with attractive views near Daouib. We will bid the desert farewell around the campfire with music.
Day 7
On our last day, we will set out after breakfast and head to Rass Nhkal where we will have our lunch, there may also be a chance to shower and freshen up. In the afternoon we will arrive in M’hamid at The artists house where you can shower and relax and enjoy dinner in our beautiful little garden
Day 8
After breakfast we leave for Marrakech, visiting the famous Tamegroute pottery on the way, which has been in operation since the 17th century. When we reach Marrakech we will drop you at your accommodation if you are staying over (we will not arrive until late afternoon/early evening so advise booking an overnight stay there)

Booking your desert adventure with us
In the first instance please use the contact page or email us direct at campsahara@outlook.com with the dates you wish to take your trip and the number of people in your group so we can check availability and give you an amended quote if you are a larger group attracting a discount.
We will contact you within 24 hours to make further arrangements for booking and payments, we require a deposit of 30% of the full fee on agreeing the booking, the balance to be paid on departure.
All requests and reservations must be made and will be confirmed by email, we are also ready to answer any questions you may have to make your trip go smoothly, please do not hesitate to ask.
In case of cancellation:
Cancellation made less than two weeks prior to travel must be paid in full, if you need to cancel earlier for a valid reason please contact us to discuss terms.
In all cases , the deposit remains non-refundable but can be set against taking your
tour at another time in case of a cancellation .
